Engineering for what no catalogue sells.

We design and build the electronics, the control systems and the software an industry needs when the equipment (hardware) that would solve its problem does not exist yet — or when the equipment that does exist refuses to talk to the rest of the plant.

What Quintun is

Quintun Software & Hardware Solutions SpA is a Chilean technology company incorporated in 2013. We develop integrated solutions in applied electronics and software: we design purpose-built electronic equipment, automate process plants, and integrate industrial equipment that was never meant to work together.

Our specialty is integration and connectivity: working out why two systems do not understand each other, then building the engineering that makes them run as one. We also advise clients on adopting new technology, and train their people through the transition.

What we do

Two trades that need each other.

Hardware without software is a mute machine; software without hardware never touches the process. Quintun works on both sides, and on the border between them — which is where the hard problems tend to live.

Electronics and embedded systems

  • Embedded system and firmware design
  • Microcontrollers, DSP and FPGA modules (Verilog / VHDL)
  • Circuit design and PCB layout
  • Prototyping and HMI interfaces
  • Reverse engineering for repair and redesign

Industrial control and software

  • PLC programming — Allen Bradley, Siemens, Delta
  • Integration of 4–20 mA instrumentation and actuators
  • Modbus RTU/ASCII and TCP
  • CIP — DeviceNet, ControlNet and EtherNet/IP
  • Profibus and CAN
  • Web-based remote monitoring and control

Own product

Interfaz Q

A device that monitors, controls and doses fluids and gases. It identifies the operator by fingerprint, is driven from its own touchscreen, and keeps working even when the link goes down.

How we work

The method comes from heavy industry.

Every project ships with separate technical and commercial proposals, a Gantt chart, a design document, dated progress minutes, per-component test protocols, and user and administration manuals. We come from plants where a mistake is measured in stopped production, and that is the standard we apply.

Solving complex, innovative engineering problems so that our clients reach their goals.
